30 Sep Three HPE Houses in Geneva – Under Construction: The Alliance of Concrete and Wood
In the heart of a green environment in Geneva, three HPE houses (High Performance Energy) are under construction. This project shows how technical precision can meet spatial poetry.
The concrete cores rise from the ground as vertical anchors in the natural slope. These strong elements form the backbone of the project. They host the technical spaces and support the light wooden structure that defines the future living areas.
The glued-laminated ash structure opens the façades widely to the landscape. This dialogue between concrete and wood enhances both the structural precision and the craftsmanship of the project. As a result, the architecture feels light and open while maintaining a strong character.
Wood plays a central role. It connects the spaces, guides circulation, and shapes natural light throughout the day. Each room gains its own identity through the balance of material, structure, and light.
Meanwhile, the construction site continues underground with the installation of geothermal systems, district heating, and pipelines.
This project of three HPE houses in Geneva, designed by architects and engineers working closely together, expresses a shared vision: creating a place deeply rooted in its context and built for long-lasting architectural quality.
