01 May Three HPE villas in Geneva: tower crane dismantling
The construction site of the three contiguous HPE villas in Geneva has reached an important milestone. Following the completion of the structural works and the timber framing, the tower crane that dominated the site has now been dismantled, and the project is entering its second-fix phase.
The crane made it possible to install the project’s defining structural elements: the concrete cores and the timber frame. With all major lifting operations now complete, its presence on site is no longer required. A mobile crane was brought in to dismantle it section by section — counter-jib, jib, then mast.
The operation, carried out in accordance with SUVA directives and coordinated with the Geneva traffic authorities, required a special transport. The dismantled elements were returned to the hire company’s logistics base by abnormal-load convoy. On site, the removal of the crane and its base now opens the way for the external works, beginning with the final shaping of the terrain.
