About This Project

In a green setting in the heart of the village of Vandoeuvres, the existing house dating from the 60s was completely transformed and extended.

Following a complete demolition of the interior partitions on the first floor and basement – a “tabula rasa” – the main objective of the project was to re-qualify all areas of the L-shaped house.

Ground-floor living was conceived as a totally open space, allowing free movement between programs, in contrast to the existing state of the house, which was conceived as a series of rooms characteristic of the way people lived at the time.

The basement, meanwhile, has been made fully habitable, offering new programs and the possibility of living in the house on two levels. The central staircase was relocated to the living wing, and its layout and dimensions were completely redesigned to ensure spatial and visual continuity from one level to the next.

External interventions were minimal, and the extension of the house on the south side was carried out in continuity with the existing structure, respecting the aesthetic codes of the existing state and integrating it respectfully into its context.
