About This Project

Nestled in the heights of the village of Bursinel, the project is located on a greenfield plot characterized by a narrow, longitudinal typology and a steep, irregular gradient.

The project is based on a 4.5 m-wide mineral base – white rendering – which extends along the entire length of the plot and follows the slope of the land. This first, brutal and archaic gesture of implantation responds to the austere characteristics of the site. The garage program separates the two housing units from each other, while ensuring the physical and visual continuity of the whole.

The two upper levels, made of wood, contrast with the mineral base of the garden level. The architectural intention is to separate two sculptural volumes, separated by the flat roof of the garages, so that each dwelling can be identified. This approach is reminiscent of the allegory of the tree house, reasoning with the treetops bordering the site.
