House renovation, Commugny

Located in the heart of the vineyards of the canton of Vaud, this villa underwent a complete renovation combined with a comprehensive energy upgrade.

The building, marked by several successive extensions over time, presented significant challenges both structurally and in terms of spatial organization, forming a central focus of the project.

On the upper floor, the addition of two dormers made it possible to increase the usable floor area and create generous interior volumes, widely opened toward the surrounding landscape. At ground level, the openings were raised to improve natural light and strengthen the relationship with the exterior.

The upper-floor layout was entirely redesigned to accommodate five spacious bedrooms, each with its own fully renovated bathroom.

A major energy improvement program was carried out, including roof and façade insulation, window replacement, installation of a heat pump and solar panels, all while preserving the original character of the villa.
