About This Project

This former barn in Troinex underwent a complete transformation. The original house, laid out over two floors beneath a dual-pitched roof, has been entirely reimagined.

An extension into the adjacent barn was carried out in full respect of the existing structure and its surroundings. Though compact in size, the house enjoys a privileged setting: perched on a hillside, it opens up to a wide view of the Salève and lush natural surroundings. The renovation began with structural reinforcement of the entire building. Original wooden beams were preserved and revealed through the creation of split-level spaces. The roof was entirely rebuilt, following the original volume. The envelope was insulated from the inside. New woodwork, crafted in a traditional style, meets modern thermal standards. Inside, a solid oak staircase leads to two bedrooms and a bathroom nestled beneath the roof, offering a cosy and comfortable night space.
